Pat Hermens

At Coolblue, we take CI/CD seriously. With more than 1,000 deployments a day, Pat will dive into what is required to enable the development teams to deliver so quickly. What tooling, guidance, and mindset is required, in order for us to deliver with such a rapid pace, at scale.

15-6-2018 11:15-12:15
Henry Been

Do you still store secrets in source control? Are your secrets safely stored, but are you struggling to distribute them to your applications? Do you feel this should be easy, but you can't just find out how? In this session, Henry will take you on a journey that starts with passwords in source control. From there he will quickly take you along on a series of improvements to make both local development and production deployments more and more secure with every change. Along the way, you will learn how to use Azure Key Vault, Azure Active Directory (AAD) and App Service Managed Instance to get everyone on a need to know basis. Finally, you will see how forgetting about keys, certificates and passwords completely and just using AAD could solve all your problems. That is.., if everyone would just use AAD!

Service Fabric is a distributed systems platform for deploying and managing scalable and reliable microservices with years of usage and optimization in massive scale services at Microsoft. Since recent versions Service Fabric is now a container orchestrator for both Windows and Linux containers. In this talk we will see how easy it is to deploy a container and benefit directly from Service Fabric’s automatic failover and scalability features. Using containers and a platform like Service Fabric changes and simplifies your DevOps workflow on a daily basis. During this talk we will also see what that means.

15-6-2018 14:15-15:15
Wouter de Kort

Shipping fast has never been so important. But shipping your database changes in an automated and secure way is still the bottleneck of many projects. This sessions shows how you can use Visual Studio and SQL Server to continuously deploy your database and make sure your architecture supports this.

15-6-2018 15:30-16:30
Geert van der Cruijsen

DevOps is far more than just teaming up Devs and Ops. DevOps is also more than automating all the things. DevOps is a mindset change. DevOps is all about creating customer value. How does this work and why is this failing so often in organizations?

APIs are everywhere, in fact; for most things, one could say “there’s an API for that”. In this interactive talk, we go on a journey to discover some of the not-so-obvious features that ASP.NET Core 2 offers for building practical RESTful APIs, and that we can use to make our APIs extra special.

FastReport .NET
Michael Philippenko

Fast Report .NET is a full-featured reporting solution for Windows Forms, ASP.NET, MVC and .NET Core. You can create application-independent .Net reports, so you can use FastReport.Net as a standalone reporting tool. Michael Philippenko has great development experience and is the CEO of FastReports. In this session he will show you how to create PDF-forms, interactive highlighting fields by click in a report preview and data analyze and pre-processing in reports. You will see how fast and ease you can create your report without the database but from text or a CSV file. How you create tickets or labels etc.

Building Secure ASP.NET Core 2.1 Applications
Niels Tanis
Building secure applications is a difficult task, especially in combination with building it based on a new application framework. ASP.NET Core is a new open-source and cross-platform framework completely rewritten from scratch firstly released in 2016. It can run on Windows, Mac and Linux and the framework moved to a more modular based approach which gives more flexibility when creating solutions with it. How secure is ASP.NET Core 2.1 by default? Do the API’s help the developer out doing a good job or is a mistake easily made? In this session, we're going to investigate how ASP.NET Core MVC and Razor Pages deal with the above questions related to e.g. Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) and Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) issues. How good are the default templates and how easy is it to adapt to newly introduced web standards? We are also going to see how we can validate an existing solution for the problems we’ve identified
