.NET Design by Contract in .NET

Met de introductie van ondersteuning voor het Design by Contract paradigma in .NET maakt dit ontwikkelplatform in mijn ogen een revolutie door! Waar we tot op heden alleen nog maar type en interface definities konden maken, is het met de komst van ondersteuning voor DbC mogelijk om ook state- en gedragsdefinities te maken. Als we kijken naar C# kunnen we in een objecten model gedragingen implementeren. Dit doen we door interfaces en types te definiëren. Tijdens compilatie valideert de compiler onze implementatie op basis van de type specificatie. Het is tot op heden echter nog niet mogelijk om ook gedragspecificaties te valideren. Hiervoor gebruiken we Unit Tests. Deze tests moeten we zelf schrijven, zijn tijdrovend, repeterend en foutgevoelig. Met de komst van DbC kunnen we ook gedragspecificaties maken. Deze specificaties zullen tijdens compilatie gevalideerd worden en daarmee kunnen we bewijzen dat onze software bug vrij is! Hoe dit precies in zijn werk gaat, wat dit betekend voor je architectuur en of dit Unit Testing overbodig maakt zal ik laten zien tijdens deze presentatie.

In deze sessie bundelen Donald en Mirjam hun kennis en ervaring. De sessie gaat in op een aantal belangrijke, maar vaak onderbelichte aspecten van de SharePoint architectuur. Onderwerpen die aan bod komen zijn:

SQL Server installatie en onderhoud voor SharePoint. De databases maken een essentieel onderdeel uit van een SharePoint installatie, toch wordt er vaak weinig aandacht aan de installatie en het onderhoud van SQL Server besteed bij een SharePoint installatie.
Respecteer de grenzen van de SharePoint architectuur. Microsoft heeft een groot aantal richtlijnen afgegeven voor de inrichting van SharePoint omgevingen. De aangegeven grenzen zijn niet allemaal hard, maar het negeren van de richtlijnen kan wel grote gevolgen hebben.
SharePoint bevat een krachtige API voor het ontwikkelen van maatwerk functionaliteit. Het gebruik van de API is echter niet heel erg trivaal. Het meest bekende voorbeeld is het wel of niet Disposen van SPSite en SPWeb objecten. Maar SharePoint heeft veel meer duistere kanten, die de performance en schaalbaarheid drastisch kunnen beïnvloeden.

Al met al worden in deze sessie een aantal belangrijke tips en pointers gegeven die kunnen helpen bij het realiseren van een succesvolle SharePoint implementatie.

Mirjam is a SharePoint architect/consultant at the Information Worker Solutions department of Macaw in the Netherlands. In this role she has been helping companies to implement SharePoint solutions since 2004. Mirjam is also a co organiser of the Dutch Information Worker User Group (DIWUG) and is a track owner of the Information Worker track of the Software Development Network (SDN). She contributes to the SharePoint community by blogging, writing articles and speaking at SharePoint events on a regular basis.

Donald Hessing is lead SharePoint architect bij VX Company BV. Hij heeft een brede interesse in techniek, en vervult o.a. de rol van technisch specialist binnen het SharePoint team. DB SQL Server Performance en Tuning

In deze sessie kijken we naar best practices op het gebied van database design (functioneel en fysiek) en T-SQL code. Tevens bekijken we de tools die SQL Server heeft om het systeem te monitoren voor performance.

In deze sessie demonstreer ik de mogelijkheden van Delphi Prism om ASP.NET 2.0–3.5 Web Form en Web Service toepassingen te ontwikkelen en te deployen. Aan de orde komen o.a. het verschil tussen een ASP.NET Website en ASP.NET Web Forms Project (alsmede een ASP.NET Web Service). Binnen de ASP.NET web projects, zal ik master-content pages, security met membership & roles, en het gebruik van declaratieve data binding laten zien (aan de hand van voorbeelden met SQL Server) met de GridView, FormView en DetailsView. Daarnaast zal ik laten zien hoe we ASP.NET Web Services en generieke HTTP Handlers kunnen maken met Delphi Prism. Tot slot zal ik enkele migratie tips geven voor bestaande ASP.NET 1.1 of 2.0 code geschreven met oude(re) versies van Delphi for .NET, en laten zien hoe deze snel omgezet kan worden naar Delphi Prism.

De laatste tijd heeft cloud computing de hoogste aandacht. Toonaangevende leveranciers als Microsoft (Azure), Google(Apps) en Amazon (EC2) bieden cloud computing op grote schaal aan. Cloud computing heeft alles te maken met software als een service, maar ook met hardware als een service, in de vorm van grootschalige datacentra. Cloud computing lijkt de "computing as utility" droom in te gaan vullen. Is cloud computing over een paar jaar net zo vanzelfsprekend als elektrische energie tegenwoordig is?

In deze sessie wordt besproken wat cloud computing is. Wat wordt er aangeboden door de verschillende leveranciers? Is cloud computing iets anders dan SaaS? Is cloud computing echt goedkoper? Is het noodzakelijk om alle software in de cloud te gaan draaien, of is het mogelijk om slechts delen in de cloud onder te brengen? Wat zijn scenario's waarin cloud computing zinvol is?

Anko Duizer is werkzaam bij Microsoft als Platform Strategy Advisor binnen het Azure incubation team. Sinds 1992 is hij werkzaam in de wereld van software ontwikkeling. Het grootste deel van de tijd is hij bezig geweest met software ontwikkelingen op het Microsoft platform. Hij heeft diverse rollen bekleed zoals developer, software architect en projectleider.

Hassan is positief ingesteld, leergierig en deelt graag kennis met anderen. Zijn hart ligt in het IT branche bij .NET ontwikkelingen, software architectuur en Team System. Hassan is en zeer actief in het delen van zijn inzichten in de .Net community als IT Professional en bestuurslid van DotNed (.NET & VSTS Gebruikersgroep Nederland).

Buiten IT is Hassan actief als jeugd voetbal trainer/coach bij FC Almere en als KNVB Scheidsrechter veld voetbal. Hassan voert al deze taken met alle plezier uit.

Hassan staat voorop als het gaat om innovatie en nieuwe technologieën. Daarmee brengt hij adviezen naar klanten over de oplossingsrichtingen rekening houdend met de toekomstige technologisch impact en oplossingen vanuit Microsoft. Gert heeft een groot aantal publicaties op zijn naam staan over onderwerpen als Portals, Servlets, JSP en Legacy modernization. Zijn werk op het gebied van ‘Servlet and JSP Programming’ wordt door Safari Books aangeduid als verplichte kost.

Gert is verder actief binnen een zelfstandige, non-profit associatie van bedrijven, organisaties en individuen die betrokken zijn bij ICT oplossingen gebaseerd op IBM architecturen.

Er zijn verschillende manieren om Silverlight in je DotNetNuke module te gebruiken. Stefan zal de handigste de revue laten passeren. Daarnaast laat hij zien op welke verschillende manieren de Silverlight “voorkant” met de DotNetNuke “achterkant” kan communiceren in een data-driven module. Het resultaat van de sessie is een voorbeeld van een Line-of-business toepassing van Silverlight in DotNetNuke. Deze sessie is ook interessant voor ontwikkelaars die Silverlight gebruiken binnen een andere webapplicatie dan DotNetNuke.

IW Waarom SharePoint Application Pages?

Diederick de Buck joined Rabobank in 1990 as a Tandem systemprogrammer, researcher and systemsarchitect. Rejoined Rabobank in 2001, after a brief spell as technical consultant at YoungWood Solutions.
Led an ambitious research project in '95-96 to quantify servicelevels of business applications in realtime. The results of this project led to the genesis of the HP ASAP product.
More recently, in his role as technical evangelist, Diederick was one of the driving forces behind the adoption of the Neoview Business Intelligence technology by Rabobank. The successful campaign management challenge with this new system, laid the foundation for deploying Neoview technology within Rabobank.

SQL Server 2008 introduceerde Spatial Data Types. Daarmee heeft deze database nu de mogelijkheid om informatie aan te bieden in een formaat dat onder andere gebruikt wordt door gps-systemen. Geography en geometry zijn CLR-datatypes voorzien van een rijke verzameling methods. Ze bieden uitwisselbaarheid met gestandaardiseerde formaten en maken het eenvoudig om complexe berekeningen op locaties, gebieden en routes uit te voeren. De sessie zal laten zien hoe een boeiende samenwerking kan ontstaan tussen SQL Server en een service als Virtual Earth. Natuurlijk komen ook de speciale Spatial Indexes aan de orde.
